Nissan introduces the LEAF, the world’s first affordable, zero emission electric car. The medium-sized LEAF seats five adults and offers a range of over 160km.
The Nissan LEAF is powered by laminated compact lithium-ion batteries, which generate power output of over 90kW, while its electric motor delivers 80kW power and 280Nm torque.

BMW launches in UK its 730Ld and 730l luxury sedans. Both BMW 730Ld and BMW 730d are powered by an all-aluminium 2,993cc straight-six cylinder diesel engine producing 245hp at 4,000rpm and a peak torque figure of 540Nm at 3000rpm. The engine goes from zero to 62mpg in just 7.3 seconds.
Compare to 730d, BMW’s 730Ld has an additional 14cms of legroom for rear seat passengers. They feature the EfficientDynamics technologies to maximise economy and emissions figures, while also improving output and engine performance for a greater driving experience and the Brake Energy Regeneration that uses the engine’s power on overrun, such as braking, to charge the battery for the car’s electrical system.
BMW 730Ld and 730d are priced at GBP 53,730 and GBP 56,790 respectively.
